This site is a non-profit resource and information hub for families impacted by the Department of Social Services (D.S.S.). Whether you're facing legal trouble or want to help others navigate the system, this is your space to connect, share, and advocate.

Each year, children are wrongfully removed from their homes, often without sufficient evidence. Ironically, this removal process can itself become the source of trauma and emotional abuse, including anxiety, appetite loss, confusion, and anger. Instead of recognizing this, D.S.S. frequently blames the parents.

P.A.S.S. is committed to fighting for:

• Transparency: All D.S.S. interviews must be video-recorded and include legal representation. Attorneys will be provided to children and parents who lack them.
• Witness accountability: Individuals making false accusations must be held legally responsible.
• Independent warrant review: D.S.S. must obtain warrants based on third-party verified merit.
• Case review board: All child removals must be evaluated by an independent, unaffiliated institution.
• Accountability of D.S.S. personnel: Workers found guilty of malicious intent will face independent court proceedings.
• Judicial independence: A non-elected panel of judges will oversee child welfare cases, separate from standard courts.
• Conflict-free representation: Child attorneys must act independently from the state’s legal team to avoid conflicts of interest.
• Reversible rulings: No decision shall be final—every judgment must be appealable.
• Panel-based decisions: All rulings will be made by a diverse panel to prevent unilateral bias.
• Group homes over foster care: Children should be placed in group settings rather than foster homes to minimize exploitation.
• No out-of-state adoptions: Children may not be adopted across state lines if parental rights are only suspended.
• Suspension, not termination: Parental rights may be suspended temporarily with limited contact, but not permanently removed unless willingly relinquished.
